This past Friday we celebrated Cinco de Mayo during Freedom Friday.
The students got to opportunity to make food and crafts inspired by the Mexican
culture and learn about the history of Cinco de Mayo.
Students made salsa from scratch,
quesadillas, and Mexicali popcorn. Students also created Mexican dream
catchers, sombreros out of newspaper and paper plates, and made taco shakers (taco shaped musical instruments). Students listened the Mariachi music and learned the Mexican Hat dance.
